You can see the online status of other Skype and Microsoft Lync / Microsoft Office Communicator users directly in your taskbar and open the chat window with one click.
So you can pin your favorite contacts to the Windows taskbar, just like ‘Windows MyPeople’.

Direct Access

You can specify whether the Skype profile picture, the usual Skype status icons or some other file should be used as icon in the taskbar.
A click onto the icon opens the Skype chat window for this user.

Usage:

Malden.exe SomeSkypeProfileName
You must specify a Skype user name on the command line. Skype must be running and the user must be in your contact list.

Malden.exe /on picture.jpg /off skype /s MySkypeAccount MyFriendsSkypeAccount
This will show the status of MyFriendsSkypeAccount in the taskbar using picture.jpg if he is online and his profile picture if he is offline. That status will be taken from my Skype instance logged in with MySkypeAccount.

Command line options:

/on file.jpg picture for online status, ‘skype’ means profile picture, ‘status’ means default skype icon
/off file.jpg picture for offline status, ‘skype’ means profile picture, ‘status’ means default skype icon
/away file.jpg picture for away status, ‘skype’ means profile picture, ‘status’ means default skype icon
/dnd file.jpg picture for ‘Do not disturb’ status, ‘skype’ means profile picture, ‘status’ means default skype icon
/noinet file.jpg picture if no internet connection is available, ‘skype’ means profile picture, ‘status’ means default skype icon
/c is office communicator account
/l <percent> use lines for status display (this is only used if skype account pictures are used), specify length of line in percent
/t <percent> status lines thickness in percent
/s skype_name if you have multiple skype instances running, username of skype instance to connect to
/h hide icon if user is offline
/d disable auto update check
username username to check, ‘myself’ means show own status and allow to change own status type
